General Information

Conference format

The conference takes place in hybrid format.
The conference will take place in the Castle of Monsaraz (Largo do Castelo 1, 7200-175 Évora, 38° 26.561' N 7° 22.885' W) with a limited and restricted number of seats.
There will be a streaming broadcast on a platform specifically dedicated for this purpose.

Government officials, DMOs, private sector representatives, wineries, infrastructure providers and UNWTO Affiliate Members.

Registration

Registration to the conference is compulsory and must be made online.
Attendance in person is restricted to those invited by the organisation, according to the number of available seats and the profile of the participants.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Portuguese government has been taking all necessary public health measures to protect the entire population as well as our visitors. Measures in force may be reviewed in accordance with the evolution of the pandemic. Please don’t forget to check the website of your local authorities to see the information required to return to your country.

Children under 12 do not need to present test. Limited travels

Passengers from India, Nepal, and South Africa
(Only essential travel) RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test) 72h before boarding, or Rapid Antigen Test 48h before boarding. Need to comply with quarantine of 14 days after arrival in Portugal.
Children under 12 don’t need to present test.

Passengers from the UK (Essential and non-essential travel)
All travellers to mainland Portugal (aged 12 or older) are required to show a negative Covid-19 test: RT-PCR taken within 72 hours of departure or lateral flow test taken 48 hours prior to departure. Comply with 14 days of prophylactic isolation on arrival in Portugal, or have complete vaccination for 14 days, of a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Children and young people that are yet to complete 18 years old at the time of their departure flight are exempt from quarantine as long as they travel accompanied by their parents, parent or responsible adult that are fully vaccinated/immunised as per EU directives. Children under 12 years old are exempt of testing requirements. Young people from 12 to 18 years old must comply with testing requirements.

With the final preparations in full swing, we are getting ready to welcome you to Monsaraz and ensuring all health and safety regulations are in place.During your check in at the conference venue, RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test), Rapid Antigen Test or a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate will be requested.

Alternatively an antigen test will be provided by the organization

Languages

The official languages of the conference are English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Simultaneous translation into any of these 3 languages will be provided, both onsite and online.

Dress Code

We recommend that you use comfortable shoes (high heels are not advisable) as well as appropriate clothing for high temperatures (forecast temperature is 32ºC)

Transfers

The organisation of the conference provides arrival and departure transfers for international participants.
Daily transfers from the official hotels to the conference venue, social programme ceremonies and wine tourism experiences will be provided.
You will need to fill in your arrival and departure details when you register and specify the hotel where you will be staying.

Accommodation

The area surrounding the conference offers a wide range of accommodation options, from rural tourism to 5-star hotels. Special accommodation conditions have been arranged for the participants of the 5th WTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism.
Participants should make their reservation directly with the intended hotel specifying the code: Global Conference on Wine Tourism. Reservations will be accepted according to the availability of each hotel unit.Special conditions apply to the conference period only.

Accreditation at the conference venue

Accreditation will take place at the main entrance to the conference venue at the following time:

Wednesday, 08 September 2021: 10:30 - 19:30
Thursday, 09 September 2021: 8.00 – 12.00
Friday, 10 September 2021: 9.00 – 11.00

Identification

All participants will receive a personal, non-transferable badge that should be worn throughout the conference, including during the social programme and wine tourism experiences.

Participation Certificates

All participants will receive a digital certificate of participation that will be available in their personal registration area.

Insurance

The Organisation cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to any person or property, or for additional expenses resulting from any changes, whatever their cause.
It is recommended that participants should arrange their health and travel insurance.

Personal Data

The information collected during the registration process will only be used to process your registration and to send you information about the conference. Your personal data will not be shared with third parties and will be deleted after the conference.

We inform you that the 5th World Conference on Wine Tourism of the WTO will be photographed and filmed so, by registering, you are agreeing to the collection and dissemination of images which may include you.
